Behind the Design: Flax Interiors’ Philosophy

Whether we are meeting for the first time or reconnecting, I want to introduce myself and my approach to interior design.

My background in psychology helps me bring a unique perspective to design. I focus on removing "design friction" to create environments that aren't just aesthetically pleasing but also functional and emotionally supportive.

I firmly believe our homes should evolve as we do. Our lives aren’t static, and our homes shouldn’t be either! Many clients seek my expertise during pivotal life moments, whether moving to a new home, welcoming a family member, or navigating personal shifts.

It took me years to get to this point, but I can honestly say that I LOVE MY JOB! While my entrepreneurial journey lacks the security of past corporate roles, the rewards are incomparable. Every day is an adventure and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

There's an indescribable satisfaction when I'm engrossed in a floor plan or visualizing a space. And nothing compares to the joy on a client's face as they witness the transformation of their home.

Each day brings new learnings about design, construction, and business. I am constantly learning, iterating, and tweaking my business processes and best practices to build a sustainable and healthy business that can support my family.

I have discovered my superpower, and there is no upper limit to what I can do with it.

I am excited to continue to grow Flax Interiors from an infant company into something bigger. This is only the beginning.

Flax Interiors is now scheduling projects kicking off in January 2024
